Aiken Backflow Company

Q:     How often do I need to have my backflow device tested?

A:     Most residential backflow devices need to be tested every 2 years, while commercial devices need to be tested annually.

Q:     Why am I required to have a backflow device?

A:     Basically the answer is so that our public water system does not get contaminated.  The State Safe Drinking Water Act, as amended July 1, 1994 (the in depth answer) has mandated that there will be protection for any actual or potential "cross connection".  Sections 44-55-20 and 44-55-40 specifically apply to that protection.  All of this information is available in its entirety at www.scdhec.gov/environment/WaterQuality/DrinkingWater/CrossConnectionControl/

Q:    How do I schedule a test?
